Charlie Cook on Sarah Palin

I ran across Charlie Cook (of the Cook Political Report) earlier today in the Denver airport, and asked him what he thought about Sarah Palin. He replied, "Barack Obama [deleted] looks like Henry Kissinger."

It's a gerund, which is a verb in the present tense (ending in ing) used to modify another verb. The verb is one of Carlin's seven words.

Sorry to be coy, but I deleted it out of respect to Mr. Cook, and because of my own reluctance to use profanity on my blog.

Before passing judgment on anyone, I think Charlie Cook and the rest of us need to learn a little more about Sarah Palin, while also letting the political implications of this change sink in.

On the latter, could it possibly be that McCain is attempting to shift from the Rovian/neocon playbook back to the good old maverick that we all knew him to be?

If this is the case, it is good news to me, not that I will support a McCain/Palin ticket because of the terrible GOP record they represent, but because a vibrant two (or more) party system that debates the issues and seeks solutions is exactly what we need.

I would like to see a return to this kind of Washington. It takes both parties to achieve this revolution, a revolution from the revolting years we've had lately.

PS: Tommy, I'm looking forward to more from you about just what it was like for you to witness and be part of this interesting convention as seen from the floor, if you will.
