Sarah Palin?

So John McCain, who would be the oldest president to ever take office, picks the least experienced running mate in our lifetime. Sarah Palin is in her second year as governor of Alaska.
The McCain campaign intended today's announcement to steal some thunder from the Democrats. Instead, the selection is eliciting puzzlement from around the country.
McCain may be hoping to peel off some women, but I don't see a strong anti-abortion candidate making headway among Hillary voters. McCain may like her for her reputation as fighting pork barrel spending, but that is hardly the the biggest issue of the campaign. I'm not sure how a McCain may have reinforced his maverick brand with this truly quirky pick. Her selection will make it harder to attack Obama as not ready.
The vice presidential debate on October 2 will hardly be a fair fight. I wonder if Biden will simply talk past her to go after McCain.

And you wrote that with a straight face? Considering you went to the convention of the party that nominated the least experienced presidential candidate in our lifetime, right?

Yeesh.

Here are some of my thoughts

It looks like McCain may have made a mistake. He only talked with her one time and that was last week about being VP. There appears to be several major issues. I'm not a Rep. But he am shocked about a rash decision. He was close in the polls. This just does make sense. He looks very implusive.

Now the talking heads are starting to talk about McCain's 2 serious runs with cancer. And that the cancer could set i again. The last one needed a 5 hr operation. Is she really ready for the President. She not a very worldly. She is not brillant.

Hube, you missed this tiny difference between Palin and Obama:

One was elected by a majority of voters who believed in him more than they believed in the other person whom all naturally assumed would take the title.

The other, if anonymous is correct, was appointed by someone wishing to be our commander in chief, after one phone call....
