650 Economists Agree
George Bernard Shaw has been quoted as saying, "If all economists were laid end to end, they would not reach a conclusion." But yesterday Reuters reported that hundreds of economists agree that it's time to raise the minimum wage:
"We believe a modest increase in the minimum wage would improve the well-being of low-wage workers and would not have the adverse effects that critics have claimed," the group including renowned academics for top U.S. universities said in a statement disseminated by the Economic Policy Institute."650 economists signed on to the statement, which is available here.

If you make me pay more than $6.50 and hour for labor I'll move my pizza parlor to India. Just try me.
Good point Jason. There are some jobs, many of which pay the minimum, that cannot be done by remote control.
