Our melting pot takes an inordinate time to reach the melting point because of a certain arrogance based on religious/cultural absolutism, in my view. <br /><br />Our fundamental religions are the bane of our social progress, and our cultural arrogance has caused us to be a war-making superpower in recent years, in my view.<br /><br />But the marvelous words of our founding fathers are still there to be lived up to by all who call themselves Americans. <br /><br />It is about time that we refresh our dedication to these principles of equality of opportunity, instead of simply mouthing them on a yearly basis. <br /><br />I believe we now have a leader who cherishes these basic American ideals and strives to live by them.<br /><br />Perry HoodAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
